Welcome to the new NEOA Basketball Officials’ Training page. We are excited to offer a new tool for our officials to use year-round for your training. The goal of this instructional video is to develop a style of officiating across the board that will result in a consistent enforcement of the rules from the start of the pre-season to the last game at the State Championship. We will review key plays from past seasons and look at how new rules and interpretations will impact how we officiate the game of Basketball at the high school level.
The NEOA will use selected videos from across our coverage area. At no time are we attempting to embarrass any coach, student athlete or official. All clips are used for the purpose of making officiating better. As Officials, we need to be consistent with our enforcement of the rules regardless of conference, level of play or geographic region. Each coach and player need and deserves to have the same call each game regardless of crew.
As the season gets closer, the goal is to produce a five minute or less segment on the different plays, rules or events during games. We hope to produce one video a week that can be used during clinics and regular season training.
If you have any plays or things that happen during your game, please forward them to the email below. If you have video, please provide the video or link so we can include it.
